Requirements Clarification & Assessment

1. Objective of the Feature:

   • The green dot aims to indicate when a user is active, encouraging real-time communication.
   • The primary goal is to boost engagement and communication on LinkedIn.

2. Target Audience:

   • General LinkedIn users, including recruiters and professionals seeking networking opportunities.
   • Launched initially in the U.S.

3. Feature Implementation:

   • The green dot will appear when users are actively engaging on the platform, such as scrolling, liking, or commenting.
   • It will be visible in the chat interface and possibly in user profiles.

4. Constraints:

   • Due to engineering limitations, A/B testing is not feasible.
   • The feature is rolled out universally without an opt-out option initially.

5. Success Metrics:

   • Increase in message volume and response rates.
   • Longer session durations and more frequent interactions.
   • Potential increase in user engagement metrics like DAU (Daily Active Users) and MAU (Monthly Active Users).
