Deciding on a Second Dice Roll

Imagine you roll a die and collect the number of points shown on its face. You then have the opportunity to roll a second die. Should you choose to roll again, you'll gain the points from the second roll but will lose the points from your initial roll. When is it advantageous to take the second roll?
